Dschweck, I used to live in Warren, Ohio. I never heard a donkey until I moved down here, always lived in the city. And the cat I am referring to is a BobCat. The donkeys really raise a racket when the coyotes are near the cattle, that's why they keep them in the field with them. Did you know donkeys are the only animals that can kick sideways? I think it is so cool. I sleep heavier here, not longer. Still up by 6 and in bed by 11. When I say Mountains, I am talking Blue Ridge Mountains in NC. Great place to live, not so great if you need to make a living.

Judygirl,Where did you used to live,East L.A.?Donkeys do a litle more then just a little brying when a large cat is in the area. Are you talking a Fat housecat or something a little more on the wild side such as a Bob Cat,puma,Lynx or??...I get the sleep my body needs. The more regulated your "go to sleep" and "time to get up" are,the better rested you are.It is not the amount,it is the quality that helps the mind and body.

I get way more sleep here in the Mountains than I ever did in Warren. No sirens wailing, no gunshots, no fighting neighbors, no dogs barking. Maybe a donkey braying, or a large cat, but other than that. pretty nice. Even the deer are quiet. Nice sleeping.
