A resolution for 2009: Count your blessings
For my very first column of the New Year, I wanted to share with you a few sweet, simple correspondences that I received recently. They came at just the right time for reflection on 2008 and hope for 2009. The first was from my pal Peggy Spatar of Lordstown. It was a quaint little e-mail about life’s most common joys. It got me to thinking that we’ve all got challenges, worries and problems as we start this brand new year and that we’re all faced with concerns associated with the teetering economy, busy schedules, family issues and the pressures of everyday life. But maybe, just maybe, sometime we wish for the wrong things. Sure, we all want health, success and stability in both the workplace and home. Good goals, to be certain. But perhaps we should set the bar at a more attainable level. You know, create reachable objectives for ourselves and those around us so that every small victory will spur us on to bigger, better ones as the year progresses. But I digress.
